Candles can be more environmentally friendly than electric lights in some cases. Candles are made from natural materials like beeswax or soy, which are renewable resources. They also have a lower carbon footprint compared to electric lights, especially if they are made locally and do not require extensive transportation. However, candles do produce some emissions when burned, and their production can also have environmental impacts. On the other hand, electric lights powered by renewable energy sources like solar or wind can be more sustainable in the long run. Ultimately, the environmental impact of candles versus electric lights depends on factors such as production methods, energy sources, and usage patterns. **
